Thought leaders from across the nonprofit sector are coming together for a celebration of technology for good. Join us for a day of shared insights, training, and inspiration from the hands-on, best practice work done expanding and advancing nonprofit missions. We'll be exploring data for impact and transformation as we collaborate as an inspired community investing in technology applied to social justice and nonprofit innovation.

We hope you will join us from 8am - 5pm followed by a Power of Us Party open to the entire Nonprofit and Salesforce.org Community in the New York area (space restrictions apply).

Jarrod Bell

Jarrod Bell

Chief Technology Officer, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America

Jarrod Bell joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of America as Chief Technology Officer in 2017. Prior to his current role, Jarrod served as the Chief Information Officer at the San Francisco Opera. As a member of the organization’s executive management team, he provided strategic business technology recommendations, planning, and implementation. He led several transformative projects, including a “work anywhere” initiative, a complete infrastructure migration to the cloud, a major website redesign, and the implementation of a market-leading security management program.

Prior to his role with the San Francisco Opera, Jarrod served as the Director of Information Services and Technology for Telwares, an IT services and network cost optimization provider based in San Francisco. In this position, he was responsible for guiding strategic information systems and business intelligence initiatives. He joined Telwares in 2002, and managed all aspects of Telwares’ information technology and services.

Prior to joining Telwares, Jarrod served as Managing Partner of Incite Technology, an IT consulting firm. In this role, he led the design and implementation of multiple business systems, business process improvement, and the deployment of call center platforms. He was involved as an early adopter of desktop and server virtualization as well as cloud services offerings.

Jarrod studied Ocean Engineering at Florida Atlantic University. He is an enthusiast of technology, endurance sports, and the arts.

Sarah Cummings

Sarah Cummings


Sarah Cummings currently manages Project 8, a global data platform for the Sustainable Development Goals, which was co-founded by Nielsen, The Demand Institute, and The Conference Board. She has presented Project 8 at Dreamforce (2018 and 2019) and the SDG Global Festival of Action. Prior to this role, Sarah worked in Shanghai in Nielsen China’s Innovation Practice, a division of Nielsen focused on new product innovation. She led pricing and portfolio studies for major consumer packaged goods companies in China.

She has also worked in Beijing and Washington, DC, and has traveled to more than 70 countries. Sarah received her BA in China in the Global Economy from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York.

Sarah Grover is the Salesforce Administrator for Redeemer City to City, where she is in charge of administering and supporting all departments, affiliates, and networks when using Salesforce. Both Salesforce Administrator Certified and a Trailhead Ranger, Sarah strategically plans and executes the Salesforce growth plan for CTC, provides group and personal trainings, and trouble shoots day to day issues with the database.

Sarah has a Masters in Library and Information Sciences from Pratt University. She has lived in NYC for 15 years. In her downtime she enjoys reading, traveling, listening to podcasts, and chasing her toddler around Central Park.

Amy Guterman

Director, Salesforce.org Impact Labs

Amy Guterman believes in the power of design to create positive change in the world. At Salesforce.org Impact Labs, she leads a collaborative program to co-design innovative technology solutions that address the toughest social issues facing us today. To date, Amy’s work has focused on addressing complex, ambiguous problems by surfacing and translating stakeholder insights into strategic visions and scalable technology solutions in the social sector. Prior to joining Salesforce, Amy led cross-disciplinary innovation programs across a range of subject matter from the private and public sectors. The programs she led leveraged open innovation methodology and ethnographic research to tackle challenges ranging from reducing violence in Chicago to redesigning health information systems in low to moderate income countries. Her work has been featured in publications such as FastCo, Wired, and The Verge and recognized internationally by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the White House.

Rosanne Haggerty

Rosanne Haggerty is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Solutions. She is an internationally recognized leader in developing innovative strategies to end homelessness and strengthen communities. Community Solutions assists communities throughout the US and internationally in solving the complex housing problems facing their most vulnerable residents. Their large scale change initiatives include the 100,000 Homes and Built for Zero Campaigns to end chronic and veteran homelessness, and neighborhood partnerships that bring together local residents and institutions to change the conditions that produce homelessness. Earlier, she founded Common Ground Community, a pioneer in the design and development of supportive housing and research-based practices that end homelessness. Ms. Haggerty was a Japan Society Public Policy Fellow, and is a MacArthur Foundation Fellow, Ashoka Senior Fellow, Hunt Alternative Fund Prime Mover and the recipient of honors including the Jane Jacobs Medal for New Ideas and Activism from the Rockefeller Foundation, Social Entrepreneur of the year from the Schwab Foundation, Cooper Hewitt/Smithsonian Design Museum’s National Design Award and Independent Sector’s John W. Gardner Leadership Award. She is a graduate of Amherst College and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.

Nicholas Hara has been with Tableau since 2013 and spends most of his time as the Support Analyst using Tableau Desktop to analyze Tableau data about Tableau customers. He is passionate about practical applications of data and gets overly excited about large data set releases. Political economy is his jam, and he is always excited to discuss common pool resources, water rights management policies, and the intersection of data and civic policy.

Jeffrey H. Klein

Chief Strategy Officer, The LGBT Community Center

Jeffrey H. Klein is the Chief Strategy Officer of The LGBT Community Center. In this role he oversees strategic planning, technology & data systems, private & public fundraising and program evaluation. Jeff is also an Adjunct Professor at Pratt Institute and previously has taught at Columbia University. His courses include Fundraising, Nonprofit Law and Intellectual Property Law. Previously, he has served as the Vice President of Programs & Services for Learning Ally (formerly Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic). While there, he was the functional head and chief strategist for program design, account implementation and customer support. He also has served as a staff attorney and fundraiser for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts specializing in counseling nonprofit organizations on their legal and business issues. Jeff is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law and is admitted to the New York State Bar. Additionally he holds a BA from Skidmore College.

Tim Love

Possessing the gumption and grit it takes to begin, grow, mobilize and manage a sales team, Candoris Director of Sales – Salesforce Consulting, Tim Love, is no stranger to teamwork. In addition to his collegiate football days at West Virginia University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s in business and criminology and a minor in communications, to his current football coaching volunteerism with a local high school, Tim brings to the team over 16 years of background in telecommunications and connectivity sales management. Thanks to his expertise and strong leadership style, the Salesforce Consulting Team has grown into a force to be reckoned with, blazing a trail into a dynamic and competitive partner network.

Typically armed with an antagonizing smile and a bag of Door Dash lunch, Tim is known by the team for giving both undivided attention and unapologetically honest answers. He is passionate about The Anne Fund – for which he is a board member, binging on documentaries, running his church’s soundboard for the worship team, and traveling with his wife and kids to unexplored territories. Since 2014 he’s been striving to build out the missions of nonprofit and commercial customers across the world. He hopes that Candoris will continue challenging the mainstream idea of a corporate work environment through leading by example.

Hao Lu is currently the Database Administrator at Robin Hood Foundation, the largest poverty fighting organization in New York City. He is also a 8 times certified Salesforce Application Architect.

Corey Lutsky

Director of Information Technology, American Jewish World Service

Corey Lutsky, the director of information technology, is responsible for overseeing AJWS’s global technology requirements, including infrastructure, network security, data center, help desk, telecommunications and application development. Corey has an extensive background in information technology, administrative operations, finance and advertising industries. He has 12 years’ experience successfully building and managing IT departments for global institutions. As information technology team lead supervisor at Morgan Stanley, Corey assisted in rebuilding the help desk and support services after 9/11. He was vice president of infrastructure and operations at BBDO, an Omnicom Agency, where he led global IT initiatives and assisted in the internal governance and compliance auditing program. He was the IT director of the Americas for Cheil, the in-house advertising agency subsidiary of Samsung, where his model for an IT service organization and global network is now being rolled out globally throughout the Cheil Worldwide organization. Corey holds a bachelor’s in communications with a concentration in information science from the University of Pittsburgh. Outside of work, Corey enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, travelling, classic rock music and photography. He is also an advanced scuba diver.

Lila McDowell

As the Deputy Director for Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison, Lila McDowell is responsible for executing the organization’s operational plans and meeting the performance objectives and standards for development, programs, and operations. Lila holds a doctorate in Education and a master’s degree in Educational Research Methodology, both from Oxford University, and a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. Lila is an adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she teaches courses on criminology, reentry, and qualitative research methods.

Eric holds an MBA in Sustainable Business from the Bainbridge Graduate Institute and a BS in computer science from Albright College. Outside of work he goes camping with his family, runs as much as possible and drinks fine Northwest brews in Seattle, WA.

Eric Magnuson brings 17 years of experience in nonprofit technology consulting, and previously worked for Groundwire, where he led a product initiative developing innovative apps in support of nonprofits. Some of the apps he helped bring to market, such as Volunteers for Salesforce, have become vital tools for thousands of nonprofits. He has also, at various points in his career, consulted to nonprofits on agile-scrum process, content management systems, donation management, online advertising and business plan development.

Eric holds an MBA in Sustainable Business from the Bainbridge Graduate Institute and a BS in computer science from Albright College. Outside of work he goes camping with his family, runs as much as possible and drinks fine Northwest brews in Seattle, WA.

Founder of Mobile Pathways

Jeffrey O’Brien founded the O’Brien Immigration Firm in 2010, with the goal of using a disruptive business focus and cutting edge technology practices to transform traditional immigration law to better serve refugees coming to the US. By merging his interest in database and process management with immigration law, Mr. O'Brien formed a nonprofit, Mobile Pathways, specifically to scale the technology for use by other refugee advocates and the immigrants themselves. All of the technology developed is mobile phone compatible, including a focus on text messaging and WhatsApp, which are the primary methods refugees use to communicate.

Executive Director of Strategic Technology, Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS)

Jonathan Palmer is the Executive Director of Strategic Technology for the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). Jonathan is a results-oriented professional with over 20 years' experience in IT Management and with a strong focus in strategically aligning technology to the needs of the mission, at all levels. Jonathan is dedicated to applying his strong track record of creating cost-effective, robust IT systems to enhance the mission of WCS and the wider conservation community.

Jonathan has delivered a range of solutions for WCS, including leading several core technology collaborations, implementing Salesforce across multiple business units and enhancing connectivity and networks in 60 countries around the globe. Currently, he leads a number of key initiatives including SMART, the Conservation Social Science Partnership, Wildlife Insights, and WildLabs.

Jonathan has extensive experience covering private, governmental and non-governmental sectors in both the North and the South. This, together with degrees in Mathematics (BSc, Nottingham, UK), Applied Social Sciences (MSc, Oxford) and Geographic Information Systems (MSc, London) and an MBA (Edinburgh Business School), provide Jonathan with a foundation spanning both the technical and human side of ICT.

Before joining WCS, Jonathan worked as a Strategic ICT Adviser to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism in Tanzania and as the software development manager for one of Europe’s leading Service Management software houses.

Jonathan’s personal goal is to take a leading role in delivering technology to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, with a specific focus on environmental and conservation issues.

As a leader in Accenture’s Nonprofit Group, Amit Patel helps domestic and international nonprofit organizations and foundations define strategic objectives and then design and implement successful projects that drive value.

With over fifteen years of experience, Amit volunteers with several nonprofits across a range of causes. Passionate about making a difference in solving the challenges facing our communities, he believes that working together across the private, nonprofit and government sectors, we can solve these problems, strengthen our communities, and improve the lives of those we serve.

Mark Patterson

Mark Patterson Mark Patterson has been involved in the software technology industry for his entire career and has spent much of it building and leading teams responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting solutions for clients. He really enjoys engaging regularly with his clients and they know they can call Mark directly at any time. In line with Fíonta values, Mark firmly believes in “doing the right thing”, even if it isn’t the easy thing.

Prior to joining Fíonta, Mark spent nearly 10 years at Aptify, a leading provider of association management systems for large membership organizations, where he served as COO with responsibility for running the day-to-day business. Aptify was acquired in early 2017 by Community Brands and Mark managed the enterprise product group as well as European and Australian sales and consulting businesses. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, and lives in Washington, DC.

Raf Portnoy

As Senior Vice President of Technology, Raf Portnoy leads a team responsible for transforming ADL into a 21st century digital organization, inscribing technology DNA into every operational component of ADL. Raf joined ADL in mid-2016 from Safe Horizon, Inc., the largest social services organization in the United States focused on providing support and advocacy to victims of domestic violence and abuse, where he was the Chief Information Officer. Prior to Safe Horizon, he was a founding CIO at the State University of New York Global Center, a newly formed elite think tank focused on issues of globalization and cross-border education management. Previously, Raf was a Principal with the Global Technology Services practice at IBM Global Services. In this capacity he provided IT leadership, strategic direction and visionary guidance to key IBM and industry executives in establishing long-term IT policies, processes and implementation guidelines in support of the organization’s strategic business objectives. Raf holds an MS in Information Systems Engineering from NYU Tandon School of Engineering and a BA in Management Information Systems from Pace University.

Staci Rice

Staci Rice founded Idlewild Partners in 2015 after having worked as a certified Salesforce.com specialist for nearly a decade. As an official partner of Salesforce.com and Salesforce.org, Idlewild has completed over 150 implementations and projects for a wide variety of philanthropic firms including human services, education reform, and foundations/grantmaking organizations. Staci was first introduced to the Salesforce platform while working for a national education nonprofit organization where she acted as a System Administrator for the National Fundraising team along with ten sites across the country. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two children and loves experiencing what the city has to offer.

Clare Robinson

Manager, Accenture

Clare Robinson is a manager with Accenture, working over the past five years with commercial & nonprofit clients on Salesforce innovations- from implementations of just 10 users to over 60,000. That’s taken her to Panama to implement NPSP in foodbanks to reduce food waste, monitor volunteers, and increase fundraising, as well as to Switzerland, UK, Kenya, Ireland and across the US to lead large scale implementations and provide coaching for critical architectural decisions. On her favorite days, she’s blazing through Trailheads and creatively solutioning for complex problems. She currently serves as Accenture Development Partnerships’ Global CRM Lead, supporting clients in the international development sector, and is passionate about finding efficiency through technology.

Damian C. Rossney

Mr. Rossney is a Project Manager at Hudson Link and is charged with the managing the internal development of Hudson Link’s Salesforce design and implementation. Mr. Rossney has a degree in business administration from Skidmore College and a background in construction, application development, and prison education. He is proud to work for a non-profit located in the community in which he was born, raised, and now lives.

Tyler Woebkenberg

Senior Technical Architect, Impact Labs

Tyler Woebkenberg is passionate about the power of data and technology to improve people's lives. He is the Senior Technical Architect of Impact Labs, a collaborative program to co-design innovative technology solutions that address the toughest social issues facing us today. Tyler was most recently a solution architect for the Analytics and Einstein AI practice at Salesforce, bringing his technical experience from his past work to customers and clients across every industry, with a special affinity to driving innovation in the social sector for Salesforce.org customers. Tyler previously was a Senior Manager at Accenture as part of their Analytics practice, leading global teams and programs to enhance their organizations with data and analytics. While at Accenture, Tyler participated in projects within Accenture’s social impact organization, Accenture Development Partnerships, which facilitates Public-Private Partnerships and projects, taking him literally around the world to support clients across 6 continents. Tyler’s work, both professional and academic, has been internationally recognized in publications, conferences, and most notably featured at Salesforce's presence at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Cincinnati and an M.S. in Applied Urban Informatics from New York University.

Patrick leads Yurgosky, where he is able to apply his ideas with the world’s most innovative nonprofits. Patrick has worked with nonprofits for 17+ years, has 14+ years of development experience on Salesforce.com, has published a textbook on data/analytics and has been teaching a graduate class at NYU for the last 8 years and is on the board of the Rutgers Big Data Program. Patrick lives in New York City.
